PCAPP Public Involvement

Members of the Colorado Chemical Demilitarization Citizens' Advisory Commission (CAC) participate in a discussion on chemical weapons disposal project during a recent quarterly meeting. The The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) is being built to safely and efficiently destroy the chemical weapons stockpile stored at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot. The public’s input and involvement is a cornerstone of the ACWA program. To learn more about the chemical weapons destruction program in Colorado, or  to become involved, visit your community outreach office, located in the heart of downtown Pueblo. The outreach office offers a wealth of materials and resources; and knowledgeable staff is available to answer your questions. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Pueblo outreach staff also participate in a variety of community outreach events, to include school presentations. For more information on such events, or to schedule a presentation, please contact:

Pueblo Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office

Another key element of the destruction program is the Colorado Chemical Demilitarization Citizens' Advisory Commission, or CAC. The CAC serves as a bridge between the community and the government, by providing a forum for exchanging information on chemical weapons, offering opportunities for public involvement, and representing community and state interests to the Army and Department of Defense. The Colorado CAC meets on a monthly basis with PCAPP representatives and other government officials. The meetings are open to the public, and the community is encouraged to participate.
